Serene Onuma, DVM

Dr. Onuma earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from Colorado State University after receiving a Master’s degree in Neuroanatomy. She earlier earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of California, Davis. Dr. Onuma’s veterinary interests range from surgery and internal medicine to dentistry and geriatric care. Her love for animals started at a young age when her father would bring home stray cats, dogs, and even rabbits from work. She found that animals gave unconditional love and were a support system. This fueled a passion for animals that drives her to this day.

A Hawaii native, Dr. Onuma shares her home with a shepherd cross named Juno.
